We will no longer charge for programming

Av Magnus Weidmar

Wizardworks is going AI-first. We no longer charge for programming. We charge for what actually requires accountability, judgment, and presence. AI-shore instead of off-shore.

What is programming, really? Often it's translating requirements into code. But that's not where the big risks and the big value sit.

What decides whether a digital initiative succeeds is understanding the business problem, choosing the right path, prioritizing well, building a sustainable architecture, and getting the whole to fit together. Code is important, but code by itself doesn't solve problems.

Over the past few years, we've built up both experience and structure for taking an idea to a working solution with .NET and Azure as the technology choice. We've built startups ourselves, we've worked in large enterprises, and today we help both startups and larger organizations.

Through this journey we've invested in ways of working, quality assurance, and a model where AI does essentially all the programming. Slowly but surely we've seen that the cost of programming has trended toward zero.

So we're making a change at Wizardworks: we will no longer charge for programming. We're taking the step and becoming an AI-first consultancy.

What we will charge for is what actually requires accountability, judgment, and presence. Being a product owner close to the business. Setting an architecture that holds up. Leading our AI programmers as an AI tech lead in an AI-first way of building. Translating business requirements into a system that can be operated, evolved, and trusted.

Not off-shore. AI-shore.

You may have experienced off-shore development: requirements get shipped off to a place where coding is cheaper, code comes back, and the rounds begin. Cheaper hours, but often a more expensive journey.

We do something different: AI-shore.

We're close to you, the customer, in the parts where it matters. And we let AI do the programming, with our processes, tests, and quality level as the framework.

In pilot projects with customers we've seen up to 12x lower development cost in code production specifically. That doesn't mean everything becomes twelve times faster, or that everything can be done without thought, but it does mean a lot more becomes possible within the same budget.

Same kinds of projects, new delivery model

We build the same kinds of solutions as before: services and complete products, modernization of existing systems, APIs, integrations, and integration platforms. The difference is that code production is mainly done by AI, while we take responsibility for requirements, architecture, quality, and delivery.

If you're curious how this could look at your organization, get in touch.
